Lovin’ in the 21st Century

modern love

Together we’re broken, separated we’re torn

Love that will fight but fall prey as easy

We vow forever but the world takes out ever

Wanting to live with the now, to join in the crowd

Dance and drinks, parties and attention

We forget and then we regret

When our hands join we’re worlds apart, when we’re worlds apart our hearts ache

It’s beautiful, it’s complicated; its lovely and disastrous

We keep breaking each other, then building us up

Only to crash all over again

Not wanting to let go, not able to hold on

Lovin’ in the 21st century is a hard a task as praying for the world to change.
